The BlogRollers are all about promoting the power of female bloggers and so much of that starts with you. We’ve created our BlogRoll so that we could show you a little linky love and so that others can find you, too. Every week we choose one of you lovely Rollers (via Random.org) for Feature Friday. We believe in promoting and supporting one another and there’s no better way to do that than by shining the spotlight on as many fabulous blogs as possible.
With that said, this week’s Feature Friday blogger is Doina from D’s World. Doina is our first European Feature Friday blogger, she is Romanian, and we are so excited that she’s Rollin’ overseas. Once you’ve read her feature, make sure to go show her some love!
Name: Doina
Blog: D’s World
How long you’ve been blogging: I created my blogger account in February last year but the first post came in March, on the 8th. So, it’s been almost one year since I started blogging.
Tell us the 30 second skinny about your blog and give us links to three of your own favorite posts:
My blog was iniatially called “D’s Poetry” and my posts were meant to include my poetry only. In time I found other things to blog about – my ideas, my thoughts or feelings, or simply cute items I found on the internet. I started to share my fav music, touching videos, my drawings, and my blog became “D’s World.” I called it so because my posts are always related to things/items/events I like or dislike. I continued to post my poetry as well. I’ve been working on a poetry book for a few years but it’s coming along slowly because I’m always caught up with something else – for example graduating college. As a matter of fact I graduated one college six months ago (so I have a BA degree in sociology). Next month I’ll be graduating the second, with a BA degree in Social Work.
Here are three of my own posts:
http://poetryford.blogspot.com/2009/03/broken.html
This is my first post and my favorite poem out of the ones I wrote.
http://poetryford.blogspot.com/2009/05/romanian-again.html
This one is a poem I wrote in Romanian. I chose this post for your Romanian readers and because I am Romanian and I’m proud of it.

And this one is a short story.
What inspired you to start blogging?
I wanted to share my poetry. Besides, blogging is in a way a sort of therapy. People feel the need to communicate, express themselves, share their opinions. Blogging may be a very useful/creative means to let out your positive/negative energy. Blogging is relaxing, too. Blogging is a way of sharing knowledge and inspiration. I can only hope that my readers find a tiny bit of inspiration in my posts. Or that my poetry leaves them, at least for a few seconds, pondering on the subjects I bring into focus.
How has blogging changed your life?
I have to admit that I’ve been into a blank period, poetry-wise. I haven’t written anything new in a while. But my blog motivates me to keep trying. Because I feel this need to post something new. I guess this blank period is also to blame for my book coming along so slowly.
As for how blogging has changed my life, I have to say – there are so many wonderful, interesting, inspiring, wise, beautiful bloggers out there. In the beginning, I admit, I thought blogging was a flat, little attractive activity. But I was so wrong – bloggers/blogging are wonderful. There are so many things you can learn about from other bloggers. And you can find so much inspiration in their posts. You can learn new things about yourself, too – I have discovered a passion for handmade cards and for drawing. Blogging is simply wonderful. And it is so because through it you can reach out to people you have never met and read into their lives, learn from their doings. They will share their ideas and inspiration with you and ask nothing in return. This continuous free exchange is beautiful, I think.
What do you wish someone would’ve hipped you to when you started your blog?
I never thought of that. I think that if you are a truly devoted blogger you will find tips about blogging on every other blog you read. And in the end you’ll find your own way of making your blog interesting and a mirror of your personality.
Give us the dirt; what’s one thing about you your readers don’t know?
There are many things. But here are two things: I love gingerbread and if I won the lottery I would move to the U.S.
Spread the love; name three blogs in your reader.
This is so difficult because I follow over 30 blogs and I love them all. With your permission I will name four:
Made by Girl http://madebygirl.blogspot.com/
This is a superinspirational blog run by a very beautiful and creative lady.
A bunny A day http://abunnyaday.blogspot.com/
This blog owner is responsible for my newly discovered passion for drawing.
Story Blob http://storyblob.blogspot.com/
Anna, the owner of this blog is a supernice blogger friend.
http://ivsadovsky.blogspot.com/
And this blog is run by my very best friend, Andra.
I ask all other blog owners whose blogs I have in my read to forgive me for not picking them. I would also like to wish all your readers a happy and love-filled new year. Again, thank you for featuring “D’s World.” Thank you for bearing with me and please, excuse my poor English.
Thank you, Doina!
