Once again, The BlogRollers Media has partnered with social media marketing firm, Everywhere for creating a digital outreach campaign for Macy’s Shop for a Better World initiatives.  Our campaign spans from now until December 31, 2009 and will focus specifically on the Rwanda Path to Peace project.

Spearheaded three years ago by Willa Shalit and her company Fair Winds Trading, Path to Peace developed an American market for Rwandan women’s crafts.  It creates trade partnerships with artisans in recovering regions to bring the power of change to Rwanda.  Shalit believes that women helping each other can change how Rwanda rebuilds its society, empowers women, and sustains economic development beyond traditional assistance.   Macy’s has partnered with Fair Winds Trading to give an online space called Shop for a Better World where the crafts can be sold.

Our portion of the campaign is focused on reaching out to the blogging community to garner participation and raise awareness about this magnificent cause.

The campaign kicks off with the promotion of the O Bracelet which was just featured in O Magazine.  The BlogRollers were wearing (and gave away) these lovely bracelets at the Type A Mom Conference two weeks ago.  Each bracelet in this series is hand-made by two women — a weaver in Rwanda and a jewelry artist in New Orleans.  Besides being a beautiful accessory, the message is all about partnership and the possibilities which occur when we work together.  Other Rwanda Path to Peace products will be introduced throughout the course of the campaign as well.

Outreach activities will include product reviews, virtual live-streaming events and/or twitter parties, contests/giveaways, and possibly some live in-person events. Keep rollin’ with us as we will be posting on how you can support Path to Peace!
